How to convert AVIF to PNG

Why convert AVIF to PNG?
AVIF is efficient, but outside web browsers few programs open it. PNG opens practically everywhere, keeps see-through backgrounds, and does not simplify the picture, so it is a safe choice for logos, graphics and pictures you plan to edit.
PNG or JPG?
Pick PNG for graphics, screenshots and anything with transparency. Pick AVIF to JPG for ordinary photos, where JPG gives a far smaller file that looks the same.
Is anything lost?
No. The PNG shows exactly what the AVIF shows, at the same width and height. Expect a noticeably larger file: saving space is what AVIF is best at.

- Is it free?
- Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many images you use it for.
- Are my images uploaded?
- No. The work is done by your own browser, on your own device. You can check: convert one image, switch off your internet connection, then convert another. It still works, because nothing is being sent anywhere.
- Is the transparent background kept?
- Yes. See-through areas in the AVIF stay see-through in the PNG.
- It says my browser cannot read the file. Why?
- This converter uses the AVIF support built into your browser. Update your browser to the current version and try again.
- Can I do many files at once?
