Terms of use

Last updated October 8, 2026

FileMoxie is a free set of file tools that run in your browser. By using this site you agree to the terms on this page. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What the site does

The tools convert, compress and resize files on your own device. Your files are not uploaded to us. See the privacy page and how privacy works.

2. Keep your originals

The tools make new files and leave your originals as they are. Check each result before you rely on it, and do not delete an original until you are satisfied with the copy. Converting and compressing can reduce quality, change colours slightly, and remove hidden details such as the date and place a photo was taken.

3. Your files are your responsibility

Only use the tools on files you have the right to use. You are responsible for what you do with the files you make here, including whether they meet the rules of any form, website or organisation you send them to.

4. No guarantee that a file will be accepted

Upload limits and file rules are set by the websites and organisations that ask for the files, and they change. We do not promise that a file made here will be accepted anywhere. Always check the result against the current instructions of the place you are sending it.

5. No warranty

This site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be available, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, or that every file can be processed.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the owner, operators and contributors of this site are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for any loss, cost or expense, arising from or related to your use of the site. This includes, without limitation, lost or damaged files, reduced picture quality, a rejected upload or application, a missed deadline, or lost time. You use this site at your own risk.

7. Fair use of the site

Do not try to disrupt the site, overload it with automated requests, or present it as your own service.

8. Software from others

The tools are built on open-source software written by other people. The about page lists it, with its licences.

9. Links to other websites

This site may link to other websites for your convenience. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or availability.

10. Changes

These terms and the tools on the site may change at any time. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last changed. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute about these terms or your use of the site must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut.

12. If part of these terms cannot be enforced

If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest of the terms still apply.
